Lacrosse 101
Lacrosse is played with a stick that has a netted pocket. Players catch, carry and throw a solid rubber ball, aiming to score in the opponent’s goal. It’s fast, skilful and one of the world’s oldest team sports.
One sport, four ways to play

The classic outdoor game: attack, midfield, defence and a goalie on a full-size field over four quarters.
12 a side
A fast, open game with limited stick contact and an emphasis on passing, cutting and draw controls.
6 a side
Short, high-scoring games on a smaller field with a 30-second shot clock. It’s the format heading to the Olympics.
6 a side
Played in an enclosed rink with boards, a short shot clock and relentless pace.
